Workshop: Meeting Revolution

An organisation’s ability to learn, and translate that learning into action rapidly, is the ultimate competitive advantage.
— Jack Welch

In many organisations, addressing frustrating, time wasting meetings is the single most important opportunity for transforming productivity. Seen as a huge drain on time and energy, many managers and leaders spend their work days literally running from one meeting to the next, often with a sense that there has been a distinct lack of outcomes. "Back to back meetings" is a term that is all too familiar for so many people, and it seems that we may have lost sight of what a reasonable, workable work week looks like these days.

This is a highly interactive workshop for managers and leaders who regularly hold and attend meetings in a work environment. Tools are provided to help participants to easily put skills straight into practice that ensure good planning, skilful management of meeting room dynamics and ‘no excuses’ follow up on commitments after the meeting.

Results of this workshop include: Fewer and shorter meetings, more intentional meetings, greater participation in meetings, reduction of disruption to meetings, better follow up after meetings.

Workshop: Measurement Revolution

Everything that can be counted does not necessarily count; everything that counts cannot necessarily be counted.
— Albert Einstein

A common issue in many organisations is that when teams meet, they don't get the most out of the opportunity.

Team meetings are often a drudgery of people reading out their 'to do' lists, hoping that others will be reminded of how important they are to the team, and appreciating how 'busy' they are every day. Not to suggest that people aren't busy, but the question is whether they are busy doing the right things.

This workshop challenges the content that is being presented at meetings and asks the question "what is the purpose of our work, and how well are we doing it?".  Weekly collaborative effort focused on that question creates real value for everyone involved.

One of the main reasons that chronic business problems persist over long periods of time is because the organisation's information system and/or reporting processes don't provide the right measurements about those problems. That usually means that people are not looking at the right information to understand their business issues.

Results of this workshop include: development of a clear plan for change and action for updating business reporting, review of roles and responsibilities for bringing information to team meetings, initiation and implementation of improvement projects that are oriented towards delivering specific customer driven results.

Workshop: Leaders Leading Change

This workshop is designed to give leaders skills and tools to help them support change initiatives in powerful and practical ways. Many leaders vastly underestimate the power that they have as role models in a changing work environment. The goal of this workshop is to bring attention to the highly visible actions and the 'little things' that leaders can do that make a big difference in changing environments.

Results of this workshop include: developing a plan of action for leaders to implement that will support change efforts, designing communication plans fro leaders, developing messages for leaders who are leading change.
